Project : No Jaywalking Here
For me, New York City has always set the tone for what big cities should be. It’s constantly on the move, with loud cars and pushy pedestrians. Tokyo, by way of contrast, is a much bigger city that moves at a much gentler pace. Unlike NYC, it’s rare for drivers to honk their horns. New Yorkers often jaywalk, but no one in Tokyo ever jaywalks.
This series is about my experience of being a pedestrian in Tokyo, relaxing into the rhythm of Tokyo and learning that faster is not always better.
